Course Description

CampRN at OU: A Pre-College Nursing Experience for Middle School Students

Eligible 6th, 7th, and 8th graders can get a hands-on introduction to the nursing profession through CampRN at Oakland University. This one-week pre-college summer program is designed to educate, inspire, and expose middle school students to the wide range of opportunities available in a nursing career.

CampRN is an innovative and engaging program that blends fun with learning. Participants are actively involved in workshops focused on biology, chemistry, math, and nursing forensics. They learn fundamental nursing skills, including CPR and First Aid, explore the mechanics of the nursing profession, and engage in patient assessment training using OU’s state-of-the-art physical assessment laboratory.

Students also tour Oakland University and interact with practicing nurses, offering valuable insight into the nursing field and potential career paths.

Due to high interest, only 20 participants will be accepted for the 2025 summer program. All interested applicants are encouraged to register early.
