Course Description

Is your child ready to become a stronger, more confident reader? Oakland University’s Summer Reading Clinic connects students in grades 1–12 students with caring, skilled reading tutors—graduate students training to become certified reading specialists.

Twenty one-hour sessions of literacy assessment and assessment-based instruction will be offered one-to-one by a graduate student in the Reading MAT program. Most children attending the Reading Clinic range in age from 6-16. We sometimes make exceptions to these guidelines. Students and their tutors will meet weekly via Zoom on mutually agreeable days and times between May 11-Aug. 14. All sessions are recorded for feedback and reflection. For questions, please email Dr. Jason Moore (jasonmoore@oakland.edu).
