Course Description

Philosophy Camp is a summer camp for high schoolers that provides HS students and undergraduates an opportunity that combines learning, leadership, and humor.

Our 2024 theme is Nature and Natures. We will seek to understand our place in nature, what kind of things (if any) have “natures”, what distinguishes the natural from the artificial world, whether technology is an enemy of nature, and other related questions.

The 2024 Philosophy Camp will take place from July 8-12 (Monday thru Friday).  We will spend the day reading and conversing, and we will spend the evening engaged in unique and fun activities (campfires, scavenger hunts, tree climbing -- you know, very Socratic activities).

We highly encourage campers to stay overnight, since many of the best camp activities happen in the evening.

Cost for Monday-Friday overnight option is $600.  The day camp option (10 am – 5 pm) is $250.  If you would like to be considered for a need-based scholarship, please fill out this form.

For more information about camp, go to https://www.oakland.edu/phil/camp/. Email Daniel Propson at propson@oakland.edu with any questions.

**Please Note when registering the registration should be under the campers name and information, not the parent/guardian.
