Course Description

Philosophy Camp is a summer camp for high schoolers that provides HS students and undergraduates an opportunity that combines learning, leadership, and humor.

Our 2025 theme is The Shape of Freedom. We will be exploring what it means for a human being to be free, what sorts of internal or external captivity people experience, how political or moral freedom should be understood, and what sorts of constraints might be compatible with a life of flourishing. This year, we are planning an exciting trip to downtown Detroit, to explore the history of the Underground Railroad.

The 2025 Philosophy Camp will take place from June 23rd thru June 27th (Monday thru Friday).  We will spend the day reading and conversing, and we will spend the evening engaged in unique and fun activities (campfires, scavenger hunts, tree climbing -- you know, very Socratic activities).

Cost for camp is $650. If you would like to be considered for a need-based scholarship, please fill out this form.

There are discounts for OU staff/faculty, for multiple child registrations, and for early-bird registration. Sign up by March 15 for the $50 early-bird discount!

**Please Note when registering the registration should be under the campers name and information, not the parent/guardian.
