Course Description

The Academy of Forensic Nursing Michigan Regional Conference: Practicing in the Gray offers attendees the opportunity to learn from leaders in forensic nursing science and practice.  Content will focus on practice issues with ethical and legal implications which create conflict and uncertainty for patients, providers, and systems.  Suggestions for expanding practice and developing an identity as a Forensic Nurse Leader will be offered. Topics also include: trauma-informed model implementation; considerations for Transgender patients following sexual assault; ethical, legal, and practice issues providing care to patients who are unconscious and those who are suspects; the Forensic Nurse Hospitalist Model; forensic nursing follow-up clinic implementation, and more!
